Programs

What we are building, and how far along it is.

Every program below carries its real status. We would rather show you an honest roadmap than a page of features that don't exist yet. Nothing here is for sale, and we are not taking payments.

Now

  • In preparation

    Rules Watch

A dated log of changes to private investigator statutes, administrative rules, and licensing board notices, starting with Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Each entry will link to the official text and give its effective date. We are building it with licensed investigators in those states.

  • Open now

    Practitioner conversations

Short interviews with working professionals in all six disciplines. What do you rely on, what do you lack, and what would make an association worth joining? Volunteer for a conversation

  • Available

    Licensing resources

Official licensing authorities and governing statutes for the states we cover, linked directly. Licensing resources

  • Published

    Code of Conduct

A single ethical standard for all six disciplines, including human oversight of AI-assisted decisions and protection for people who report misconduct. Read the Code

Next

Planned. Each opens once there are enough practitioners involved to do it well.

  • Planned

    Membership

A cross-discipline membership with one member, one vote. Any dues will be stated plainly before anyone is asked to pay them, and they will not be tax-deductible as charitable contributions.

  • Planned

    Mentorship

Experienced practitioners paired with people earlier in their careers, within and across disciplines.

  • Planned

    Publications and case analyses

Practice notes and cross-discipline case studies written by and for practitioners, each with sources and a date.

  • Planned

    Professional development

Courses and study guides for working professionals. We will not describe any course as carrying continuing-education credit unless the relevant state board or accrediting body has approved it.

  • Planned

    Events

Regional meetings and online sessions that bring disciplines together around real cases and current rules.

Under study

Ideas we are researching before we commit to anything.

  • Under study

    Rules Watch for more states

Expanding coverage beyond the first three states once the format has proven useful.

  • Under study

    Professional directory

A member directory with clear limits. Any directory we publish will point to official state licensing records rather than claim to replace them.

Help us decide what comes first

The order above will change based on what practitioners tell us. Write to contact@uscli.org with your discipline, your state, and the one thing you'd want from a professional association.
